Installation Procedure

- Install the inner tie rod to the steering gear.NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Using theJ 44665-2
(2), tighten the inner tie rod (1).
Tighten: Tighten the inner tie rod to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
- Install the inner tie rod support clamp to the steering gear. Use the J 44665-1
(1) and the J 44665-2
(2) in order to tighten the inner tie rod support clamp.
Tighten: Tighten the inner tie rod support clamp to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the rack and pinion boot to the steering gear. Refer to Rack and Pinion Boot Replacement .
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Perform a four wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment (w/Rear Wheel Steering) or Measuring Wheel Alignment (w/o Rear Wheel Steering) in Wheel Alignment.
