Test Description

  1. 2:  This step begins the procedure that will allow the technician to determine the components responsible for setting DTC C0543.
  2. 3:  This step will help determine if there are objects caught in the rear wheels.

1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check-Rear Wheel Steering? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Rear Wheel Steering

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, with the engine ON.
  3. With a scan tool, select the Display DTC function.
Does the scan tool display DTC C0543?		 Go to Step 3  Go to Diagnostic Aids

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Inspect the rear wheels for objects that may cause obstruction and remove.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 4  Go to Diagnostic Aids

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, with the engine ON.
  2. Use a scan tool in order to clear the DTC.
  3. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?		 Go to Step 3  System OK
