Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering cooler (1) to the vehicle.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering cooler retaining bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  2. Connect the power steering outlet hose (3) to the power steering gear (4).

  3. Install the retaining clamp.
  4. Connect the power steering inlet hose to the power steering pump.
  5. Install the retaining clamp.
  6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
  7. Inspect all the hose connections for leaks.
  8. Install the front grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (GMC) or Grille Replacement (Chevrolet) in Exterior Trim.
