Installation Procedure

- Install the starter motor.NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the starter motor bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 78 N.m (58 lb ft).
- Install the positive battery cable lead (8) to the starter.
- Install the positive battery cable nut (7).
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the engine wiring harness lead (1) to the starter.
- Install the engine wiring harness nut (4).
Tighten: Tighten the nut to 3.4 N.m (30 lb in).
- Install the right fender wheelhouse inner panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
- If necessary, install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
