Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
  2. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (1).

  4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 6.6L (LLY).
  5. Remove the positive battery cable from the generator, perform the following:
    1. Slide the boot (3) down to access the terminal stud.
    2. Remove the positive cable nut (2).
    3. Remove the positive cable.

  7. Remove the generator bolts (1).
  8. Remove the generator (2).
