Disconnect Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
  2. Open the rear door.
  3. Remove the energy storage box (ESB) access panel.

  5. Rotate the battery disconnect key to the horizontal position.

  7. Raise the rear seat.
  8. Remove the plastic retainers from the ESB trim cover (1).

  10. Remove the ESB trim cover.
  11. Disconnect the 42-volt positive/negative cable electrical connector (4).
