Removal Procedure

Remove the energy storage box (ESB) carrier (3). Refer to Energy Storage Box (ESB) Carrier Replacement (5.3L Engine w/RPO HP2) .
Disconnect the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) outlet adapter (2) from the ESB carrier.
Disconnect the HVAC outlet adapter from the vehicle body (1).

Remove the HVAC outlet adapter.
