Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra and 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Clean all the EVAP pipe connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting in order to avoid possible evaporative emission (EVAP) system contamination.
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the EVAP purge pipe from the chassis EVAP purge pipe.
  3. Disconnect the EVAP purge pipe from the EVAP canister.
  4. Remove the EVAP purge pipe from the clip.

  5. Cap the EVAP purge pipe and canister in order to prevent possible EVAP system contamination.
