Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: Clean the fuel feed/return pipes connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting the fittings in order to avoid possible fuel system contamination.
  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Pickup)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (Pickup - 5.3L (L59) Engine)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (1500 Crew Cab)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Front)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (Cab/Chassis - Rear) .
  2. Disconnect and remove the fuel feed (3) and/or fuel return (2) line from the sending unit and retaining clips.

  3. Cap the fuel feed/return, and evaporative emission (EVAP) lines in order to prevent possible fuel/EVAP system contamination.
