Extension Housing Rear Oil Seal: Installation

  1. Lubricate the inside diameter of the new seal with assembly lubricant. Use the seal installer with a soft faced mallet to install the seal.
  2. Install the seal to the extension housing. See Fig 2 . Install the propeller shaft. See appropriate DRIVESHAFT & UNIVERSAL JOINTS article in DRIVE AXLES.
  3. Remove the drain pan and lower the vehicle. Fill transmission with appropriate fluid to proper level. See LUBRICATION  .
