Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra and 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lubricate a NEW O-ring seal with transmission fluid.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the VSS and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. If equipped with the 8.1L engine, connect the VSS electrical connector (5).

  6. If equipped with the 6.6L engine, connect the VSS electrical connector (4).
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Check the transmission fluid level. Add if necessary.
