Installation Procedure

  1. Using J 22834-A  install the NEW rear oil seal.

  2. If required, install the following:
    1. The yoke
    2. A NEW main shaft washer
    3. A NEW prop shaft yoke washer
    4. The main shaft nut

  3. If required, use J 8614-01  in order to keep the keep yoke from rotating.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Tighten the main shaft nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 441 N.m (325 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement - One Piece or Propeller Shaft Replacement - Two Piece in Propeller Shaft.
  6. Check the transmission fluid level. Add if necessary.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
