Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra, 2004 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2004 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the floor console.
  2. Connect the floor console electrical connector.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the screws (1) that retain the upper console bracket to the lower console bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the bolts (1) retaining the console to the I/P.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  8. Install both front console side panel screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  10. Move both front seats to the fully forward.
  11. Install both rear console side panel screws (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  12. Reposition the inboard seat track trim (1).

  14. Connect the floor console electrical connector.
  15. Install the center console end panel. Refer to Center Console End Panel Replacement .
  16. Install the console storage bin. Refer to Console Storage Bin Replacement (Expect Pro)  or Console Storage Bin Replacement (Pro) .
  17. Install the cupholder to the console. Refer to Cupholder Replacement (Luxury) , Cupholder Replacement (Non-Luxury) , Cupholder Replacement (Rear)  or Cupholder Replacement (Pro) .
  18. Install the upper console bezel. Refer to Bezel Replacement - Floor Console (Non-Luxury Upper) , Bezel Replacement - Floor Console (Luxury Upper)  or Bezel Replacement - Floor Console (Non-Luxury Lower) .
  19. Install the radio amp fuse. Refer to Electrical Center Identification Views in Wiring Systems.
