Gauge is Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) controlled using Vehicle Control Module/Powertrain Control Module (VCM/PCM) data on Class 2 serial data line. As fuel level increases, sending unit resistance increases. VCM/PCM receives information from resistance of fuel tank sending unit and sends it to IPC.
