Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the side rails (2) against the front of the truck box, flush with the box rail and level with each other.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the clamps (3) evenly spaced leaving 203 mm (8 in) on each end.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the clamp bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  3. Install the cover assembly (1).
  4. Slide the header guide up over the side rail flange.
  5. Tighten the header bolts (4).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the header bolts to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  6. Unroll the tonneau cover.
  7. Latch the tonneau cover.
  8. For installation or for adjustment during the warmest part of the day inspect the tension plunger (1); 1.6 mm (1/16 in) raised is the optimal plunger position from the front rail (2).
