Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Feed the seat belt through the trim panel.
  2. Install the shoulder belt opening trim cover.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors, as needed.
  4. Install the body side trim panel to the vehicle.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the screws that retain the body side trim panel to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N.m (17 Ib in).

  6. Install the upper and lower seat belt anchor bolts.

    Tighten 

    • Tighten the upper bolts to 70 N.m (52 Ib ft).
    • Tighten the lower bolts to 80 N.m (59 Ib ft).
  7. Install the coat hook. Refer to COAT HOOK REPLACEMENT (EXTENDED/CREW CAB PICKUP)  or COAT HOOK REPLACEMENT (STANDARD CAB PICKUP)  or COAT HOOK REPLACEMENT (UTILITY) .
  8. Install the door sill trim plate. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT .
