Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the body side front lower trim panel to the vehicle.

  2. Install the upper body side trim panel to the vehicle.
  3. Feed the seat belt through the trim panel.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the screw that retains the upper body side trim panel to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 1.9 N.m (17 Ib ft).

  5. Install the jack storage cover (left side only).
  6. Install the endgate or the liftgate opening door sill trim plate. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT - END GATE  or DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE .

  7. Install the coat hook. Refer to COAT HOOK REPLACEMENT (EXTENDED/CREW CAB PICKUP)  or COAT HOOK REPLACEMENT (STANDARD CAB PICKUP)  or COAT HOOK REPLACEMENT (UTILITY) .
  8. Install the assist handle. Refer to ASSIST HANDLE REPLACEMENT .
  9. Install the rear seat belt anchor nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 80 N.m (59 Ib ft).

  10. Install the upper and lower front seat belt anchor bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 70 N.m (52 Ib ft).
