Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bumper step pads. Refer to STEP PAD REPLACEMENT - REAR BUMPER (PICKUP)  or STEP PAD REPLACEMENT - REAR BUMPER (UTILITY) .
  2. Remove the license plate lamps. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (W/ STEP BUMPER) or LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (W/O STEP BUMPER) or LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (FILLER PANEL) in Lighting Systems.
  3. Remove the nuts and the bolts that retain the rear bumper impact bar to the bumper bracket.
  4. Remove the rear bumper impact bar from the vehicle.
