Removal (4.3L Engine)

  1. Turn off all lamps and accessories. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. See Fig 1 .
  2. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
  3. Remove starter motor bolts. See Fig 2 .
  4. Remove starter lead nut.
  5. Remove positive cable from starter.
  6. Remove starter solenoid nut. See Fig 3 .
  7. Remove harness from starter.
  8. Remove starter from vehicle.
