Removal (4.3L Engine)

Turn off all lamps and accessories. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. See Fig 1 .
Raise and suitably support vehicle.
Remove starter motor bolts. See Fig 2 .
Remove starter lead nut.
Remove positive cable from starter.
Remove starter solenoid nut. See Fig 3 .
Remove harness from starter.
Remove starter from vehicle.
