Installation (6.6L Engine)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 11 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 GMC Sierra, 2002 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, and 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the starter motor to the engine rear cover. See Figure .
  2. Install the starter motor bolts. Tighten the starter bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install the solenoid wires. See Figure .
  4. Install the starter solenoid nut. Tighten the starter solenoid nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the battery positive cable to the solenoid stud.
  6. Install the battery positive cable nut. Tighten the starter battery positive cable nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Install the right front fender wheelhouse inner panel, if equipped with 4WD. See Figure .
  8. Install the right front tire and wheel, if equipped with 4WD.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. NOTE: Clean any existing corrosion from battery terminal bolt flange and battery cable end.
  11. Connect negative battery cable. See Figure . Tighten battery terminal bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
