Installation Procedure

  1. Position J 36502-2A  over the output shaft.

  2. Using J 36502  install the rear output shaft seal.

  3. Remove J 36502-2A  from the output shaft.

  4. Fill the space between the seal lips with grease GM P/N 1052497 or equivalent.
  5. Install the transfer case. Refer to TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT .
  6. Check the transmission oil level. Refer to FLUID REPLACEMENT 
  7. Lower the vehicle.
