Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the tire and the wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the torsion bar from the lower control arm. Refer to TORSION BAR AND SUPPORT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the steering linkage shield. Refer to STEERING LINKAGE SHIELD REPLACEMENT in Steering Linkage.
- Remove the stabilizer shaft link from the lower control arm. Refer to STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENT (RWD) or STABILIZER SHAFT LINK REPLACEMENT (4WD) .
- Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.
- Lower the stabilizer shaft.
- Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
- Compress shock absorber.
- Remove the steering knuckle. Refer to STEERING KNUCKLE REPLACEMENT (RWD) or STEERING KNUCKLE REPLACEMENT (4WD) .
- Remove the lower control arm to the crossmember and the frame bracket mounting nuts and bolts.
- Remove the lower control arm from the frame.
