Removal Procedure

- Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD REPLACEMENT in Engine Cooling.
- Place a drain pan below the pump.
- Remove the power steering hoses from the pump.
- Cap the power steering hoses.
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT in Engine Mechanical 2.2L.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to POWER STEERING PULLEY REPLACEMENT .
- Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connection.
- Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts.
- Remove the A/C compressor rear bracket mounting bolts.
- Remove the A/C compressor from the brackets and set aside.
- Remove the power steering pump front mounting bolts.
- Remove the power steering pump rear mounting bracket nuts from the engine studs.
- Remove the power steering pump rear mounting bracket bolt.
- Remove the power steering pump.
