Removal Procedure

NOTE:
Refer to POWER STEERING HOSE DISCONNECTED NOTICE
in Cautions and Notices.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the steering linkage shield, if equipped. Refer to STEERING LINKAGE SHIELD REPLACEMENT in Steering Linkage.
- Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Disconnect the pressure hose from the power steering pump.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Engine Controls 4.3L.
- Disconnect the power steering gear pressure hose from the power steering gear.
- Remove the power steering gear pressure hose from the vehicle.
