Removal Procedure

Additional ground straps are used to connect the body and the frame to the engine and the transmission. Always connect all ground straps in order to ensure a good ground path to the battery for all electrical components.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.
  2. Remove the ground strap nut and bolt from the engine.
  3. Lower the vehicle.

  4. Remove the ground strap bolt from the cowl.
  5. Remove the ground strap.
