Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE  .
  2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.
  3. Remove the bolt retaining the positive battery cable to the underhood fuse block.

  4. Remove the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the generator.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.

  6. Remove the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the starter.
  7. Remove the positive battery cable bolt from the engine.
  8. Remove the battery positive cable.
