Installation Procedure

NOTE:
Failure to properly align the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring may result in component damage and effect OBD II system performance.
Important: The reluctor ring is shaped like a dish.
The dish must face the engine front cover. Failure to do so will damage the front cover and the reluctor ring.
- Install the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring.
- 1.1. Align the keyway on the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring with the crankshaft balancer key in the crankshaft.
- 1.2. Use the J 5590 in order to push the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring onto the crankshaft until completely seated against the crankshaft sprocket.
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
