Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the transmission.
  2. Remove the clutch assembly, if equipped. Refer to CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Clutch.
  3. Remove the flywheel bolts.
  4. Remove the flywheel spacer if a flywheel spacer is used.
  5. Remove the flywheel.

    Important:  If the flywheel is cracked or damaged replace the flywheel.

  6. Clean and inspect the flywheel. Refer to ENGINE FLYWHEEL CLEANING AND INSPECTION  .
