Removal Procedure

- Remove the transmission.
- Refer to TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT in Manual Transmission - NV 1500.
- Refer to TRANSMISSION in Automatic Transmission - 4L60-E.
- Remove the clutch assembly, if equipped. Refer to CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Clutch.
- Remove the flywheel bolts.
- Remove the flywheel spacer if a flywheel spacer is used.
- Remove the flywheel.
Important: If the flywheel is cracked or damaged replace the flywheel.
- Clean and inspect the flywheel. Refer to ENGINE FLYWHEEL CLEANING AND INSPECTION .
