Water Pump Installation

  1. Install the water pump gasket to the engine.

  2. Install the water pump to the engine.
  3. Apply sealant GM P/N United States 12346004, GM P/N Canada 10953480, or equivalent, to the water pump bolt threads.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the water pump attaching bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the water pump attaching bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the water pump pulley and bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the water pump bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
