Oil Pan Installation

Apply a 5 mm (0.193 in) diameter bead of GM P/N United States 12346286, GM P/N Canada 10953472, or equivalent, to the oil pan side sealing flanges.

Apply GM P/N United States 12346286, GM P/N Canada 10953472, or equivalent, to the oil pan surface that contacts the engine front cover.

Apply a small amount of GM P/N United States 12346286, GM P/N Canada 10953472, or equivalent, to the new oil pan rear seal ears prior to installing the oil pan rear seal into the bearing cap groove.
Install the new oil pan rear seal.

Install the oil pan.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the oil pan nuts.
Tighten

Tighten the oil pan nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
