Intake Manifold Installation

  1. Install a new intake manifold gasket uniformly into the intake manifold flange groove.
  2. Install the intake manifold.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the intake manifold bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts in sequence to 24 N.m (17 lb ft).

  4. Install the rear EGR port cover to the cylinder head.
  5. Apply GM P/N United States 12345493, GM P/N Canada 10953488, or equivalent, to the EGR port cover to cylinder head bolt threads.
  6. Install the rear EGR port cover to cylinder head bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the rear EGR port cover bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  7. Install the throttle body to the intake manifold.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the throttle body to intake manifold bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
