Torque Converter Clutch Valve & Spring (4L80-E): Removal

CAUTION:
Valve springs can be tightly compressed. Use care when removing retainers and plugs. Personal injury could result.
Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil pan and the filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING under LUBRICATION. Disconnect the wiring harness if necessary. Remove the snap ring. See Figure. Remove the plug. Remove the valve. Remove the spring.
