Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ACCY position.
  2. Turn the wiper switch to the DELAY position.
  3. Turn the ignition OFF when the wiper arms are in the innerwipe position and not moving.
  4. Disconnect the washer hose from the washer nozzle.
  5. Remove the cover from the wiper arm nut.
  6. Remove the wiper arm nut from the wiper transmission drive shaft.
  7. Using J 39822,  remove the wiper arm from the wiper transmission drive shaft.
  8. Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm. Refer to WIPER ARM BLADE REPLACEMENT  .
  9. Clean the knurls of the wiper transmission drive shaft with a wire brush.
