Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the park brake and block the wheels in order to prevent the vehicle from moving.
  2. Turn the ignition ON.
  3. Press the brake pedal and shift the transaxle into low gear (1).
  4. Turn the ignition OFF.
  5. Use a small flat-bladed tool in order to remove the shift control handle retainer.
  6. Remove the shift control handle.
  7. Remove the center console trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT -- FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE (AZTEK) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT -- FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE (RENDEZVOUS) .

  8. Remove the shift indicator fasteners.
  9. Disconnect the shift indicator lamp from the shift indicator.

  10. Remove the shift indicator.
