Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Remove the oil pump bolt.
  3. Remove the oil pump and oil pump drive shaft.

  4. Remove the crankshaft oil deflector nuts.
  5. Remove the crankshaft oil deflector.
  6. Inspect the oil pump driveshaft at both ends for rounding of the corners.
  7. Inspect the oil pump. Refer to OIL PUMP DISASSEMBLE  , OIL PUMP CLEANING AND INSPECTION  , and OIL PUMP ASSEMBLE  in Engine Unit Repair Manual.
