Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the upper and/or lower oil cooler outlet hose (s) to the oil cooler pipe.
  2. Install the oil cooler outlet hoses and pipe.
  3. Connect the lower oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Connect the upper oil cooler outlet hose to the thermostat bypass pipe.

  6. Install the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt through the oil cooler pipe bracket into the right engine mount strut bracket.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  8. Add engine oil as necessary. Refer to ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT  .
  9. Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.
