Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- If removed, install the oil cooler hose fitting.
Tighten
Tighten the oil cooler hose fitting to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
- Install the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose to the oil cooler hose fitting.
- Connect the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler. Ensure that the oil cooler seal is in place.
Coat the seal with engine oil.
- Install the oil cooler connector.
Tighten
Tighten the oil cooler connector to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Connect the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.
- Install the oil filter. Refer to ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT .
- Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
- Add engine oil as necessary. Refer to ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT .
- Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.
