Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to WIPER MOTOR MODULE REPLACEMENT .
  3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
  4. Remove the air cleaner cover and intake duct.

    Important:  Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket to prevent bending the cable housings.

  5. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.
  6. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to FLUID FILLER TUBE REPLACEMENT .
  7. Disconnect the outlet heater hose (3) from the outlet heater pipe (4).
  8. Disconnect the outlet heater hose clamp using the J 38185  .
  9. Disconnect the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
  10. Remove the outlet heater hose.
