Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install new sealing washers to the evaporator outlet tube. Refer to SEALING WASHER REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Install the evaporator outlet tube.
  3. Remove the cap or tape from the suction hose.
  4. Connect the evaporator outlet tube to the suction hose.
  5. Install the suction hose to evaporator outlet tube bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  6. Connect the evaporator inlet tube to the evaporator outlet tube.
  7. Remove the cap or tape from the TXV.
  8. Connect the evaporator outlet tube to the TXV.
  9. Install the evaporator outlet tube to TXV nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  10. Install the evaporator outlet tube bracket bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in).

  11. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  12. Install the wiper motor module. Refer to WIPER MOTOR MODULE REPLACEMENT .
  13. Install the cruise control module mounting bracket.
  14. Install the cruise control module mounting bracket bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  15. Install the cruise control module in the mounting bracket.
  16. Connect the cruise control module electrical connector.

  17. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  18. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
