Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  The defroster door must be closed to allow clearance during defroster duct removal.

  1. Set the HVAC controls in the vent setting to close the defroster door.
  2. Remove the I/P carrier. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CARRIER REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the side window defogger ducts from the defroster outlet duct.

  4. Remove the defroster outlet duct retaining clips using the J 38778  .
  5. Remove the defroster outlet duct from the I/P carrier.
