Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Use a heat gun J 25070. 
  2. Position the lower flange of the rear body panel molding to the hem flange of the endgate, pulling upward and forward to align the retainer clips to the holes in the endgate.

    Important:  Do not touch the adhesive backing on the molding.

  3. Remove the protective liner from the back side of the rear body panel molding.
  4. Position the upper edge of the rear body panel molding retainer clips to the holes in the endgate.
  5. Install the retainer clips to the endgate by pressing in until fully seated.
  6. Install the upper edge of the rear body panel molding by applying pressure to the entire length of the molding starting at the center and working outward in order to ensure a maximum bond to the endgate.
  7. Install the license lamp. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (AZTEK) or LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT (RENDEZVOUS) .
  8. Install the license plate.
