Test Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. 3. Tests for an open in the outside rearview mirror switch ground circuit. If the mirror switch ground circuit is open, turning on the headlamps will remove the alternate ground path through the illumination ground circuit.
  2. 4. Tests to see if the malfunction is on the switch side of the MSM, or the mirror motor side.
  3. 7. Tests for a short to ground in the mirror switch or motor control circuits.
  4. 8. Tests for an open or short to ground in the mirror switch supply voltage circuit.
  5. 10. Tests for an open or short to ground in the mirror motor.
  6. 11. Tests for an open or short to ground in the mirror motor assembly.
