Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel.
  3. Remove the brake caliper and support the brake caliper. Do NOT disconnect the brake hose. Refer to BRAKE ROTOR in Disc Brakes.
  4. Remove the brake caliper bracket. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER in Disc Brakes.
  5. Remove the brake rotor.

  6. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector from the connector bracket.
  8. Disconnect the drive axle from the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACEMENT in Wheel Drive Shafts.
  9. Remove and DISCARD the wheel bearing/hub bolts.
  10. Remove the wheel bearing/hub.
