Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. If the vehicle is equipped with all wheel drive, remove the right side engine splash shield in order to access the heat shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT -- ENGINE .

  3. Remove the steering gear heat shield bolts.
  4. Remove the steering gear heat shield.
