Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (4.8L, 5.3L, AND 6.0L (RPO LQ4))  or ENGINE SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT (6.0L (RPO LQ9))  .
  2. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube (1) from the intake manifold and valve rocker arm cover.
  3. Remove the PCV valve (2) from the PCV tube (1).

  4. Remove the vent hose from the throttle body and the valve rocker arm cover.
  5. Replace the hose/tube as necessary.
