Intake Manifold Removal

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important: The intake manifold, throttle body, fuel injection rail, and fuel injectors may be removed as an assembly. If not servicing the individual components, remove the manifold as a complete assembly.

DO NOT use the intake manifold-to-cylinder head gaskets again.

Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (1) and valve (2).

Remove the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor (1), if required.
Remove the engine coolant air bleed clamp and hose from the throttle body.

Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) solenoid (3), bolt (2), and isolator (1).

Remove the intake manifold bolts.
Remove the intake manifold with gaskets.

Separate the intake manifold-to-cylinder head gaskets (1) from the manifold.
Discard the intake manifold gaskets.
