Removal Procedure

Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to ZONE 3 in SIR.
Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT .
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the START position.
Using an awl, insert the tip into the access hole (1) of the ignition lock cylinder.
Push down and hold the lock cylinder retaining pin.

Release the lock cylinder to the RUN position.
Pull the lock cylinder away from the steering column.
