Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the shock absorber.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice on page P-9 in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the upper shock absorber nut and bolt.
  3. Install the lower shock absorber nut and bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the upper and lower shock absorber nuts to 95 N.m (70 lb ft).

  4. Connect the electrical connector and air line if equipped with RTD.
  5. Connect the ESC sensor, if equipped. Refer to REAR POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT--ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION--LEFT (15 SERIES) or REAR POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT--ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION--LEFT (25 SERIES) or REAR POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT--ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION--RIGHT in Electronic Suspension Control (ESC).
  6. Remove the support from the rear axle.
  7. Remove the safety stands.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
