Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  Install in an environment that is free from dust or dirt. Dust and dirt could come in contact with the adhesive surface and prevent proper adhesion.

  1. Clean the area where the wheel opening flare is to be mounted.

    Use a suitable solvent, such as flash naphtha or a mixture of 50 percent isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent water.

  3. Dry the area thoroughly.
  4. Warm the body panel with a heat gun J 25070 to a minimum of 21°C (70°F).

    Important:  Do not touch the adhesive surface when the tape is removed.

  5. Remove the adhesive tape from the wheel opening flare.
  6. Install the wheel opening flare to the rear fender.
  7. Install the push pins to retain the wheel opening flare.
