Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Sonoma and 2002 Chevrolet S10 Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

A intermittent can be caused by a defective CKP sensor reluctor wheel. Remove CKP sensor. Check reluctor wheel through CKP sensor mounting hole. Check porosity and condition of reluctor wheel. If reluctor wheel is okay, see appropriate TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article for intermittent diagnosis.
